This tour starts early in the morning when our comfortable tourist bus picks you up at your hotel. We are heading to the Dikti Mountains to explore famous sites there. Our guides along the way will tell you about the places you will pass through.Kera Orthodox Convent with a rich history will be our first stop. Guides will show you this monastery. After visiting the monastery, we will continue to climb the picturesque roads and get into the Lassithi valley, which lies at an altitude of just under 900 m above sea level.
The next stop will be Psychro Cave, which lies at an altitude of 1000 m above sea level. The ancient Greeks believed that Zeus was born here. You will have a unique chance to visit this cave and admire the beautiful stalactites and stalagmites that are thousands of years old.Then, we will go to the pottery workshop, where you will get acquainted with the tradition of making ceramic products, and if you wish, you can make something by yourself!
And finally, we will stop in the village of Dzermiado. Here we will have a real Cretan lunch in a local tavern. Many local specialties such as wood-fired oven lamb and a variety of rustic vegetable dishes will be served (optional).
