Aurelian Walls at Porta San Sebastiano. The Aurelian Walls, built between 271 and 275 AD under Emperor Aurelian, once encircled the entire city of Rome for nearly 19 kilometers, protecting it from invasions. Porta San Sebastiano, one of the best-preserved gates of this defensive system, stands along the ancient Appian Way. Today it houses the Museum of the Walls, where visitors can walk along sections of the ramparts and enjoy unique views of Rome while exploring the city’s late Imperial fortifications.
Catacombs. The catacombs along the Appian Way are ancient underground cemeteries carved into the tufa rock between the 2nd and 5th centuries AD. The early Christian communities used them for burials and as places of worship for martyrs. Among the most famous are the Catacombs of San Sebastiano, San Callisto, and Domitilla. Today, they offer a fascinating journey into underground Rome, with winding tunnels, crypts, and early Christian frescoes.
Circus Maximus. The Circus Maximus was the largest stadium of ancient Rome, located between the Palatine and Aventine hills. It could hold up to 250,000 spectators and was mainly used for thrilling chariot races, as well as public games, festivals, and triumphal celebrations. Today it is an archaeological site and a vast open space often used for events and concerts, still preserving the grandeur and atmosphere of Imperial Rome.
Aventine Hill. Aventine HillOne of Rome’s seven legendary hills, the Aventine is peaceful and scenic — home to elegant churches, leafy lanes, and spectacular city views.

Piazza Barberini. Piazza Barberini is a lively square in the heart of Rome, dating back to the 16th century. Dominated by the elegant Palazzo Barberini, today home to the National Gallery of Ancient Art, the square is most famous for its Baroque fountains by Gian Lorenzo Bernini: the Triton Fountain, with its powerful sea god blowing into a conch shell, and the charming Fountain of the Bees. Centrally located near Via Veneto and the Trevi Fountain, Piazza Barberini is both a cultural landmark and a bustling hub of city life.
Drop Off Point Trinità dei Monti/Spanish Steps.
