There are several unique landmarks in Pollença, including Puig de Maria and Calvary Church. A staircase of 365 stone steps leads up the hill to the Calvary Church from the city's center, symbolizing the path of Christ to Calvary. Cypress trees beautifully frame it, and one can see small gardens and charming houses here and there. The sanctuary of Puig de Maria was built in the 14th century at 330 meters above sea level. After many changes, the monastery is now a mix of Gothic and Baroque styles. The 14th-century refectory and altar are both worth seeing.
