They are an integral part of the tourism industry, which prompted the government to help endangered elephant species survive (which is extremely important as some subspecies, for example, Maximum Sumatranus, only live in Sumatra). For example, the Sumatran elephant is now protected in sanctuaries, where they are fed, loved, and cared for. You can safely enjoy all sorts of activities in such places feeding, bathing, and playing with these peaceful animals.
