We explore the different winding channels of the Al Thakira bay mangroves taking in the views of wildlife, including reef egrets, terns and herons as well as relaxing away from the busy life of Doha. We provide a short educational talk about the mangrove ecosystem and how such a forest could exist by the sea. Furthermore, we will visit the UNESCO heritage site Fort Al Zubara and have a chance to see this historic Qatari military fortress built under the oversight of Sheikh Abdullah bin Qassim Al Thani in 1938.
