Our tour will start with a visit to the section of the gallery dedicated to the Medici family’s impressive collection of musical instruments. You will see the most expensive Stradivari in the world, the oldest piano and other unique instruments! Accompanied by your expert guide, you will access the "Tribuna di De Fabris" where the four Prisoners and Michelangelo's San Matteo will lead us to the imposing David.
Are you ready to discover all the anecdotes related to the block of Carrara marble that Michelangelo sculpted into this biblical hero? We will make sure you learn all about the history and the secrets that lie behind each one of Michelangelo’s 6 sculptures.
Your entrance ticket to the Accademia Gallery will give you the chance to stay inside the museum. Take a moment to continue marveling at Michelangelo’s art at the end of your tour, but don’t miss the chance to also see the Accademia’s remaining masterpieces such as Lorenzo Bartolini’s plaster casts displayed in the Gipsoteca, the large collection of gold-plated altarpieces on the gallery’s upper floor, and other Renaissance paintings dating back to the 15th and 16th centuries.
What you will do on the tour:
The tour will start with a visit to the section of the gallery dedicated to the Medici family's musical instruments collection where you can admire the most expensive Stradivari in the world, the oldest piano and other splendid unique instruments! Accompanied by our expert certified guide you will walk through the "De Fabris Tribune" to the feet of Michelangelo's David, carved in just 3 years by a single block of 6 meters tall Carrara marble ... you can also admire the other 5 sculptures by Michelangelo: the four Prisoners and the San Matteo. At the end of the tour you could stay inside the Museum until closing, to see Lorenzo Bartolini's poetic plaster casts in the magnificent Gipsoteca, the large collection of gold background altarpieces on the gallery's upper floor and other Renaissance paintings dating back to the XV and XVI centuries.
