Castine Outdoor Escape Game: Team Spy Mission

Nobody in Castine will suspect a thing. Except, possibly, the people on your own team. In plain terms: a 2.5-hour team spy game on foot, played on your phones. Wilson Museum was founded using a geologist's collection and displays rocks, minerals, shells, prehistoric artifacts, ship models, and local history. Along the way, Castine shows you some of its history and some green space. Most city activities are about the sights; this one is about the people you play with. Specifically, watching them try to act casual in public. Puzzle experience is optional. Every mission goes better with a brave volunteer, and somebody will volunteer the wrong person. There may be a double agent on your team. There may not. No app, no guide, no headset. About 2.5 hours and 2.6 km, with 4 stops that stay secret until you earn them. Castine will recover by the end of the day. Your group now has at least one story it will keep retelling. Who it's for: - Friends, couples and families with teens: finally, a day out with more to talk about than where to eat. - Solo travelers and anyone new in town: join an open session and team up with other players. You arrive alone and leave with a team, which is more than most networking events manage. - Private groups: bachelor and bachelorette parties, girls' weekends, boys' trips, wedding parties, work teams and active over-55s. Pick the day; we will handle the intrigue. Book a private game for 1 to 8 players on a date you choose; a team of one works too. Prefer company? Join the open session every Sunday at 3pm to team up with other players. If nobody else books it, we let you know in advance so you can play solo or move to another date. Bigger groups play as several private teams. What to expect Meet in front of the Wilson Museum in Castine, near the Blacksmith Shop added in the late 1960s. Your mission starts on your phones there and leads your team to 4 stops over about 2.6 km on foot, finishing at the last stop about 2.5 hours later. Only the meeting point is shared in advance; the rest is revealed as you play. - Arrive at Wilson Museum 15 minutes early - Bring a charged phone for each player, with mobile data; a power bank helps - About 2.6 km of walking; wear comfortable shoes - Outdoors in typical weather; if conditions turn unsafe, we reschedule you or refund you - The challenges suit teens and adults; younger players are welcome with grown-ups on the team - Parts of this route are not yet checked for step-free access.
