Lisbon Essential Walking tour
Discover Lisbon, an amazing city built on several hills that provides beautiful views.
In three hours you will be able to explore the city in the company of an experienced guide and learn about all the nooks and crannies that the city hides.
First of all, we will introduce you Bairro Alto, a neighborhood with 500 years of history. There you will have the opportunity to learn about the evolution of the city.
After, you will admire the view that São Pedro de Alcântara has to offer - From this point you are capable of overseeing the whole historical center and south bank of the Tagus River.
Going downwards, you will stop at Igreja de São Roque, which is one of the first Jesuit churches in Portugal. The exterior does not give any justice to the interior, since it is delicately decorated with gilding, tiles, and paintings, a great example of Baroque Style.
Continuing downhill, you will cross Convento do Carmo, an example of Gothic Architecture in the city and a site with great historical importance.
Another great viewpoint to overlook the city is on top of the Santa Justa elevator, an imposing monument built in the Gothic Revival Style.
After a quick stop for refreshments (coffee or water and a custard tart), you will continue the tour Downtown and discover several attractions.
Towrds the end of the tour you will visit Portas do Sol, Mosteiro de São Vicente de Fora, Panteão Nacional and scoll through the Alfama district.
The tour ends at Lisbon Cathedral built in 1150.
