2-day Winter Climb to Chersky Peak

Climbing Chersky Peak means going through cedar massifs and jungles of taiga grasses. From the top of the peak, you can see the expanses of Lake Baikal and hundreds of kilometers of dense taiga. This route makes it possible to know and feel the whole gamut of beauty of the wild, untouched nature of Khamar-Daban. Khamar - Daban is the oldest massif of the planet, stretching from west to east for more than 350 km, forming a mountainous country in the south of Lake Baikal. The most popular and accessible object is Chersky Peak (2090m).
Day 1. We collect all the tourists and go to Slyudyanka - a small town located in a picturesque valley on the southern tip of Lake Baikal in the foothills of Khamar-Daban. Then we stop for breakfast (not included) overlooking the South Baikal and at 10:20 we reach the trail, from where our journey to Chersky Peak begins. The ascent is carried out along the Slyudyanka River to the camp site. Snacks on the road are included. Then we check-in, admiring the mountain beauties and have dinner, overnight in the cabins at the camp site. In the evening you can order a sauna (additional charge). Snack on the way and dinner are included.Travel time: 4-5 hours, 16 km.
Day 2. After having breakfast we exit to the trail, ascent along the serpentine to the plateau, from which you will have a view of the Khamar-Daban ridge in the east and the Eastern Sayan in the west. At 10:00 we'll ascent to Chersky Peak (2090 m above sea level). From the top you will see Lake Baikal, as well as a unique creation of nature - Lake Heart, which is located at the foot of the mountain. Then we will return to the camp site to have snack / lunch and at 14:00 we're awaited by departure on the way back along the path already familiar to us to the city of Slyudyanka, where the bus will be waiting for us. In the evening we return to Irkutsk, on the way you can stop for dinner (not included). Breakfast and lunch/snacks are included. Walking time: 6-7 hours, 24 km.
