2-hour Pompeii Walking Tour
Attracting about 2 million tourists every year, Pompeii is one of the most important archaeological sites in Italy, if not in the world. On this private 2-hour tour, you will skip the long lines and have the chance to explore the remains of the Roman city like a VIP visitor. Observing the ancient ruins, you will find out how it was destroyed by the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD and then was left buried under the mountains of volcanic ash. Your guide will show you houses and household items that were almost intact when the city was excavated during the archaeological work, and you will be able to see the ancient city just as it was during the Roman Empire. The best features of the tour will include the Amphitheater of Pompeii, the small theater, otherwise known as the Odeon, and the Gymnasium. Also, you will see the places where the Romans used to celebrate and hold feasts, as well as the frescoes frozen in time and poignant casts of Pompeii's citizens and their pets.
Highlights: the Ancient Roman Amphitheater, the forum of Pompeii, the Lupanar of Pompeii, the House of the Faun, Cave Canem Roman Mosaic.
Departure: Sun, Wed, Sat. Includes: a guide, skip-the-line entrance ticket. 1-10 people.
