Full-day Rome Tour with Vatican City
Early in the morning, you will begin the tour with a visit of one of Rome's most iconic monuments, the Colosseum. After meeting your qualified guide, you will have a skip-the-line fast entry, setting on the 1-hour tour around the biggest amphitheater ever built. Joining a small group, you will explore the two tiers of the Colosseum and the spot where Roman Emperors used to watch Gladiator combats with wild and ferocious animals.
Your journey will continue with a 2-hour tour around the Roman Forum and the Palatine Hill, and you will discover what used to be the heart of the Roman Empire and see symbols of its glory and power. The guide will show you the location where Julius Cesaers' ashes lay, and you will visit the beautiful Roman Basilicas that were built to worship the pagan gods. After a quick break, you will be taken to the most stunning piazzas and fountains in the city, and, just within a 15-minute walk from Ancient Rome, you will see beautifully decorated Baroque art. Afterwards, you will visit the Spanish Steps and discover some interesting facts behind the creation of what Romans call 'La barcaccia', which literally means 'the ugly boat'. You will follow the cobblestone Roman streets and get to the most iconic fountain in Rome, the Trevi Fountain. After tossing a coin in the water and making a wish, you will try some Italian Gelato and continue the walking tour with a visit to the Pantheon and Piazza Navona. Then, you will have Italian lunch, rest and get ready for the next part of the tour.
Departing from the center of Rome, you will get to the Vatican City and meet a Vatican expert guide.
