Right in the heart of the Medina in Marrakesh, you will attend a workshop on making Moroccan babouche or traditional slippers. The perfect way to get to know the authentic side of the region, it will take place in a very relaxed and playful atmosphere. Taught by an experienced leatherworker Youssef, you will be able to learn the different steps of babouch making, understanding how to choose the leather and stitch it properly. The workshop will be well-organized, resembling a short training course with a structured presentation, and it will help you to appreciate the essence of leather craft. As you will repeat the steps after the leatherworker, the presence of an experienced professional during the whole workshop will allow you to make your own pair of Moroccan babouche, and you will be provided with the necessary tools and materials.

Babouche are slippers without heels that are deeply rooted in Arabic tradition and go all the way back to the 3rd century. While being very solid and comfortable, they have been adored by the orientals for centuries. The slippers exist in different colors and in various forms, and their manufacture follows a very particular process.
