Play a Carnival treasure hunt in Venice to find the city's hidden treasures. A fantastic journey into the secrets of Venice and its famous carnival. The 2023 Venice Carnival will be held from February 4 to February 28. This is a great game for groups or families to play, and it will be an experience to remember.
You'll be given a map to begin the treasure hunt, but that's not all. After downloading the app on your phone, it will serve as your compass and personal automatic storyteller, telling you about the city's and this festive season's secrets. You will pass through beautiful squares such as Campo Manin, Campo Santo Stefano, and Campo Sant'Anzolo. These are not squares because "campo" means "field."
Then you'll come across hidden treasures like the Scala Contarini del Bovolo and walk down the ancient Calle Degli Assassini. You will cross the Ponte Delle Ostreghe, a bridge commemorating Venice's ancestral fishing tradition. And, of course, there are the churches. Most have incredible anecdotes and, in some cases, scandals to tell. Even though there is nothing scandalous about the Church of San Maurizio, it does have a very impressive collection of musical instruments. After all, Venice is the city of music!
You must photograph at least three points highlighted on the map during the hunt. Finally, the treasure will be yours: a white Venetian mask to be painted entirely by yourself. In a fabulous Venetian Palace, the 1500 Doge's Prisons' Palace, a professional mask-painter will gladly give some suggestions for decorating and personalizing it!
The final location, which guards your treasure, deserves special attention. Everyone knows or has heard of Casanova, right? Thus, in flesh and blood, Casanova was imprisoned in this historical Palace, which is part of the Doge's Palace, according to many Venetian legends. The famous Bridge of Sighs connects the two structures. Imagine painting your mask in this environment! Have fun and good luck!
