It grows in the neighborhood of the same-named village, one of the country's major wine-producing regions. This global variable is used for producing dry, semi-sweet, and semi-dry red and pink wines; it makes both single-sort and mixed beverages. The scent and flavor of Areni wine are dominated by ripe cherry, spice, dried fruits, and nuts.
