From Lisbon, we will cross the Tagus River and pass the Portuguese Golden Gate Bridge, officially called the Salazar Bridge during the Fascist dictatorship. At the end of the bridge, we will have the opportunity to see how big the statue of Christ the King is (it was erected in 1959 as a token of gratitude to God for saving Portugal from the horrors of World War II).

We will drive along the Albufeira lagoon, a protected area that combines pine trees, cork trees, beautiful beaches, small lagoons (the deepest in Portugal) and bird watching. Then we will arrive at the impressive Cape Espichel (Cabo Espichel). This is the westernmost point of Mount Arrábida, where there are frighteningly high cliffs. There are several structures built mainly in the 1700s and associated with an old history that dates back to the 1200s: a church surrounded by two arms of pilgrimage houses, a lighthouse, a chapel and an aqueduct.

Then it's time to explore the fishing town of Sesimbra. Originating in the 12th century, today it is famous for its fresh fish and beautiful beaches. Here we will visit a medieval and heavily guarded Moorish castle, which stands in a dominant position above the rock and offers the best view of the village and the Atlantic Ocean. It's now lunchtime, and we encourage you to enjoy the best fresh seafood Sesimbra has to offer.

After lunch, we will cross the amazing Mount Arrábida, known as the blue coast. This is a protected area (Natural Park of Arrábida) where many Mediterranean plants grow, from olives, pistachios and strawberries to lavender, thyme and chamomile. Always close to the sea, we will pass by several amazing beaches with azure waters and wonderful views.

At the end of the day, we will visit a small family cellar nestled in the middle of the tranquil Arrábida Mountain and learn more about this precious nectar and this stunning area. Enjoy the vineyards, beautiful landscapes, relax and, of course, try the local wine. Finally, it's time to return to Lisbon, our city, which is always close to the sea.
