Descripción completa

Explore Rio’s dynamic mix of street art, history, and culture in a journey that blends graffiti with the city’s most iconic landmarks. This tour goes beyond murals, connecting travelers to the stories that shaped Rio’s identity — from its Belle Époque splendor to its Afro-Brazilian heritage.

Embark on a 3-hour walking experience that begins in front of the Municipal Theater at Cinelândia, where Belle Époque architecture and cultural treasures set the stage. Continue to the world-famous Selarón Steps, a vibrant mosaic masterpiece by Chilean artist Jorge Selarón.

From there, admire Eduardo Kobra’s monumental “Etnias” mural, once the world’s largest by a single artist. The tour then leads into Pequena África and Bafo da Prainha, areas filled with Afro-Brazilian history.

The journey concludes at Praça Mauá, a lively waterfront square home to the Museum of Tomorrow and the Rio Art Museum (MAR). Guests may choose to stay exploring or count on the guide’s help to return to their hotel.

Itinerario

We start at Siqueira Campos metro station, where a colossal mural depicting the character "Ze Ninguém" sets the stage for our journey.

From there, we'll take the metro to the Gloria neighborhood, strolling through its streets while offering insights into its significance, until we arrive at Lapa.

In the vibrant area surrounding the iconic Selaron Steps in Rio de Janeiro, you will encounter a captivating display of graffitis that adorn the walls, creating an immersive and dynamic street art experience. The graffitis here showcase a diverse range of artistic styles, colors, and themes, each piece telling its own unique story. From bold and intricate designs to thought-provoking messages, the graffitis in the Selaron Steps area embody the creative spirit and urban culture of Rio. As you explore this artistic haven, you will be mesmerized by the talent and creativity of the artists who have left their mark on these walls, contributing to the rich tapestry of street art in Rio de Janeiro.

Returning from the steps, we'll make our way to the nearby VLT station in Cineland, where we'll board a train bound for the aquarium. Here, a monumental mural depicting the history of slavery in Rio, accompanied by Eduardo Kobra's awe-inspiring graffiti, awaits us. Notably, this graffiti was once hailed as the world's largest art graffiti.
