Descripción completa

Embark on a shore excursion from Le Havre to the main Normandy landing beaches and D-Day sites. Visit Omaha Beach, Pointe du Hoc, and the American Cemetery. Learn about the Normandy Invasion and Battle of Normandy with an expert local driver- guide.

Begin your tour with a hassle-free pick-up directly from your cruise ship at the Le Havre cruise terminal. Your guide will greet you and provide a detailed overview of the day’s itinerary. Then, step into your comfortable, air-conditioned vehicle and embark on a scenic drive through the Normandy countryside, passing picturesque villages and lush green landscapes. Visit the site of the most challenging and deadly D-Day landing. Learn how the pre-landing bombings fell short of neutralizing German defenses, resulting in immense casualties as American troops faced fierce resistance. Walk along the beach and reflect on the bravery of the soldiers who stormed these shores. Marvel at the dramatic cliffs where U.S. Army Rangers scaled vertical rock faces to neutralize German artillery positions. This strategic location, part of the Atlantic Wall, offers stunning views of the English Channel and a haunting reminder of the intense battle fought here. Explore the preserved artillery battery and the lunar-like landscape, bringing the events of June 1944 vividly to life. Conclude your tour with a visit to the solemn Normandy American Cemetery in Colleville-sur-Mer. This sacred site, the first American cemetery established in Europe during World War II, honors the thousands of American soldiers who gave their lives. Take time to walk among the rows of white crosses, visit the Visitor Center for a deeper understanding of D-Day, and pay your respects to the heroes of history. After an unforgettable day exploring the D-Day landing beaches, relax on the return drive to Le Havre, where you’ll be dropped off at your cruise ship in time for departure.
