This wonderful tour begins with a visit to Khor Virap monastery, Noravank, the "Hin Areni" wine factory, and the "Birds Cave." You will be met in Yerevan and driven to your first destination, Khor Virap, the closest point to Mount Ararat. Khor Virap is Armenia's most famous pilgrimage site because it is directly associated with the adoption of Christianity. Christianity was adopted as a state religion in Armenia in 301 due to the efforts of Saint Gregory The Illuminator, who was imprisoned in the dungeon before converting King Trdat The 3rd to Christianity, and over which a church of Khor Virap monastery was built in the 17th century.
Following that, visit Noravank monastery, which is magnificent in its construction, as the church of the Holy Mother of God is a two-story monastery. Passing through a narrow road surrounded by rocks with hundreds of caves, one comes across a scene of architectural harmony with nature. The sanctuary, enshrined with reasonable architectural solutions and luxurious embellishments, is one of the finest examples of 13th-century Armenian architecture.
Following that, you will enjoy wine tasting at the "Hin Areni" wine factory, which is located in one of Armenia's oldest settlements and is well-known for its wines. Vayots Dzor and Areni village has been the cradle of Armenian winemaking for millennia. The "Hin Areni" wine factory welcomes the world to showcase the historical and indigenous Armenian grape varietals. The winery's historic winemaking traditions are well combined with cutting-edge modern equipment. The "Hin Areni" wine factory can process over 250 tonnes of grapes.
Your final destination will be the ancient cave called "Birds-Cave" or Areni-1. Metal knives, fruit seeds, grain residues, rope, dishes, clothing, dried grapes, and plums, all dated to 4200-3500 BC, were discovered in the cave as a result of the research. The world's oldest leather shoe was found right here. It is over 5500 years old. The world's oldest women's skirt (3900 BC) and the world's first winery were discovered in the same area. We will transfer you to Yerevan at the end of the tour.
