All Sights of Alesund. Private Tour

The tour will offer you the complete introduction to Ålesund in just one day, as a guide will take you around its main attractions. You will take in the spectacular view of the city and its surrounding islands from the mountain Aksla and learn tons about Vikings and royalty. Also, you will drive to the islands of Vikings, taking subsea tunnels located 30 meters under the sea bottom.

The first Viking island that you will visit will be Giske, known as the birthplace of the famous Viking Rollo, the ancestor of Royal British Family. There, you will make a stop at the Marble Church that dates back to the 12th century. Then, you will take the next subsea tunnel to the island Godøy and visit the old fisherman’s village Alnes and its legendary lighthouse. You will get to the Medieval village Sunnmøre, walking around the open-air museum with traditional Norwegian houses and a vast boat collection that includes replicas of Viking ships. Remarkably, the local scenery was used for the famous movie ‘Frozen’. The sites of interest will include the Atlanterhavsparken or the Aquarium, one of the largest seawater tanks in Europe and Norway’s first marine science center. Filled with unfiltered sea water, the tanks display the marine life of the Norwegian coast and the Atlantic Ocean. There, you will be able to try picking up a starfish, fish some crab and visit the Sealbay with an underwater observatory that shows seals in similar to wildlife settings. You will conclude with a short walking tour down the pedestrian street Kongengsgata, learning the mystical story of the Ålesund fire and about the Art Nouveau architecture of the town.
