The guided tour of Vatican City will begin, including unique access to St. Peter's Basilica. Following your meeting with your guide, you will enter the Vatican Museums with a priority entrance ticket and collect your headsets to hear your tour. From there, you will begin your tour by walking around the world's smallest country. The tour guide will take you to the many Vatican Museums, including the famed Pio Clementino Museum and the Octagonal Court, which houses the statue of Laocoön and His Sons. The masterpieces from the Papal collections can be found in enormous galleries such as the Hall of Maps, the Gallery of Tapestries, and the Gallery of Candelabra. You will then enter the Sistine Chapel to see Michelangelo's magnificent ceiling. The guide will take you to St. Peter's Basilica, where you will have VIP access. After entering, you will have time to walk around before climbing to the highest point of St. Peter's Dome. You will undoubtedly see the Papal Crypts beneath the Basilica and Bernini's Baldacchino.
Following your Vatican tour, you will have time to see the Colosseum, have a break, and begin your self-guided tour. Your Colosseum skip-the-line ticket will have a specified entry time, and you will present it at the Colosseum main gate to escape the enormous lines. You will be able to see the Flavian Amphitheater and the first and second tiers at your own pace. The massive arena where brutal conflicts between gladiators and wild animals took place during the Roman Republic can be seen from the second tier. The Roman Forum, an ancient site with numerous major government structures and the center of the Ancient Roman Empire, will be the next stop. You will next proceed to Palatine Hill, one of Rome's seven hills. Wealthy residences, including the well-known Domus Augustana, largely populate the region. At the end of the tour, you will experience one of the most beautiful views of Circus Maximus from Palatine Hill.
