At 10:00, we will start our tour to Echmiadzin, the holy city of Armenia. The following five monuments in Echmiadzin are listed as World Heritage Sights by UNESCO: Echmiadzin with its main cathedral (4th century), St. Gayane (7th century), St. Hripsime (7th century), Shoghakat Church and Zvartnots Cathedral. According to scholars, Echmiadzin Mother Cathedral is the oldest cathedral (not the oldest church) in Armenia and one of the oldest cathedrals worldwide.
During the second half of the day, we will drive to the Aragatsotn Region to explore the incredible 13th-century Saghmosavank Monastery and enjoy the view over the Kasakh river gorge. The complex itself is perched atop the mountain. But that's not the end of our journey. On our way back to Yerevan, we will stop at the Armenian Alphabet Monument, where you can take some beautiful photos or even find the first letter of your name.
