We will leave at 09:00 for Aparan, located in the Aragatsotn district. The settlement is 1880 meters above sea level and is located on the eastern slopes of Mount Aragats and the northern slopes of Mount Ara, on the banks of the Kasagh River. The climate is Alpine, with snowy winters and pleasant, humid summers. We will first drive to Sanahin Monastery for horseback riding. King Ashot III, the Merciful, and Queen Khosrovanuysh erected it in 966. The complex is shaped like a cross.
Following that, we will go horseback riding near Haghpat Monastery, founded in the 10th century. Haghpat Monastery was one of the most important science centers, with a significant collection of manuscripts. It had copying facilities for library manuscripts, cafeterias, and institutions. Only the main church of St. Nishan (with sculptural representations on the outside and frescoes from the 13th-14th centuries inside), St. Gregory Church, St. Astvatsatsin's modest dome church, the 13th-century cafeteria and book storehouse, the belfry, and khachkars have remained. We'll return to Yerevan after a day full of adventures.
