Bjni Fortress is a castle in the village of Bjni, which is in the province of Kotayk in Armenia. It is built on top of and along the sides of a rocky plateau that almost splits the village in half — most of the fortress curves south, with a smaller portion to the east. The fortress's walls can only be seen from the village's western side, and they are best reached via a narrow dirt road that forks (take the left fork) and climbs the side of the hill past some houses. Some of Bjni's outer defense walls are still there and run along the mesa's sides.
During this private tour, you will first go to Bjni to see the St. Astvatsatsin monastery, which was built in 1031, and the beautiful fortress on an upland promontory surrounded by impregnable rocks. Next, stop in Tsaghkadzor for a visit to the Kecharis monastic complex and a cable car ride up Mount Teghenis' slope (from where there is a picturesque view of the mountain ranges of the region). Finish the tour with an adrenaline-pumping activity: a zipline ride near Kecharis!
