Marrakesh Discovery Guided Walking Tour, Morocco
On the tour, your guide will open doors to an authentic, exciting world, introducing you to the real life of Marrakesh's medina quarter and taking you to places rarely seen by other tourists. As you walk through the maze of winding streets that even some locals do not know, you will chat with locals, have a look at thousands of different handmade items on shop stalls and witness the crafting process. You will visit the grandiose palaces in the area, including the Bahia Palace, and learn about the history of Marrakesh and Moroccan craftsmanship. Also, you will make a stop at a local cafe and taste the famous mint tea. The guide will take you to Jemaa el-Fnaa, the main square and market place in Marrakesh's medina quarter. It is the beating heart of the city and UNESCO Masterpiece of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity. There, you will find snake charmers and Barbary macaques on display, as well as Chleuh dancing-boys, story-tellers (telling their tales in Berber or Arabic), magicians and peddlers of traditional medicines.
