Description complète

Enjoy a two-hour guided tour of the Palazzo del Comune in Florence, the splendid Palazzo Vecchio, where the Medici family resided for centuries and where the city's political power still resides today.

Palazzo Vecchio was designed by Arnolfo di Cambio and built in the form of a castle on the ruins of two other palaces in Piazza Signoria.

Wonder around the beautiful and unique halls of the palace, like the Medici's private apartments, and discover the impressive artworks from the Middle Ages to Renaissance.

During the visit, you will also have a chance to admire the murals that decorate the walls of the Salone dei Cinquecento, the largest room in Italy made for a civil power palace, built by Simone del Pollaiuolo and Francesco Domenico and commissioned by Fra Girolamo Savonarola..

Itinéraire

Palazzo Vecchio. Palazzo Vecchio is the symbol of Florence's political power and one of its most iconic buildings. Located in Piazza della Signoria, it was built in the 13th century and served as the residence of the Medici family before they moved to Palazzo Pitti. Today, it houses the Palazzo Vecchio Museum, featuring magnificent frescoed halls, artworks, and the famous Arnolfo Tower, which offers a breathtaking view of the city.

Salone dei Cinquecento. The Salone dei Cinquecento, located inside Palazzo Vecchio in Florence, is the largest hall in the palace and one of the most impressive in Italy. Built in 1494 by order of Savonarola, it was later expanded by Giorgio Vasari for Cosimo I de' Medici. Its walls are adorned with spectacular frescoes celebrating Florentine victories, while the coffered ceiling enhances the majestic atmosphere of the hall.
