This Ålesund guided tour, led by an English-speaking driver-guide, visits three coastal icons via bridges/tunnels, mixing history, heritage, and views on Giske/Godøy islands.

Giske Church: Norway's sole white marble church (c.1130, Romanesque), a Giske family chapel. Seats 125 in rectangular nave; features 18thC carvings by Jakob Sørensøn Giskegaard, "kissing crosses." Restored post-Reformation; evokes Norman style amid serenity. Summer tours.

Alnes Lighthouse: Godøy's NW coast, 1876 stone tower (26m tall), beam reaches 20 nautical miles thru stormy seas. Museum, quarters, cliffs, views—great for photos/birding. Red cabins nod to seafaring past.

Aksla Viewpoint: 418m above Brosundet harbor; 360° fjord/island/Art Nouveau/mountain panoramas. Top Norway view via winding road; Fjellstua restaurant, wildflowers for sunsets.

Itinéraire

Giske. You will be able to see a 12th century marble church located on the island of Giske. Then through the underwater tunnel you will get to the Alnes – a charming fishing community, from where you can admire a unique view of the Atlantic Ocean.

Alnes Lighthouse. An interesting point of our trip will be a visit to the local lighthouse.

Aksla Mountain. The next and the last point of the trip will be a stop at the view point Aksla – the best place to enjoy a magnificent panorama view over the city and the archipelago. For those who wish to walk down to the city center by the 418 stairs and take unforgettable photos, the tour will end here. The rest of the passengers will be taken to the starting point of our trip.
