Khao Wang (Phra Nakhon Khiri Historical Park), 97 Khiri Ratthaya Road, Petchaburi. After a one‑hour drive, a stop at Khao Wang, also known as Phra Nakhon Khiri Historical Park, is highly recommended. This landmark is one of the most iconic attractions in Phetchaburi Province and is considered a symbol of the region. Perched atop a 92‑meter‑high mountain, Khao Wang features a striking blend of royal halls, temples, and the distinctive white chedi, all visible from afar. The site beautifully reflects the ancient heritage and architectural elegance of Phetchaburi. To reach the summit, we will take the cable car, offering scenic views as you ascend to the historical complex.

Wat Mahathat Worawihan, Khlong Kra Chaeng, Phetchaburi Thailand. Situated in the heart of Phetchaburi, the radiant white Wat Mahathat stands as one of the province’s most remarkable temples. Its centerpiece is a 42‑meter‑high, five‑tiered Ayutthaya‑style prang (corn‑cob‑shaped stupa), beautifully adorned with intricate stucco reliefs crafted by Phetchaburi’s renowned artisans — a signature style visible throughout the town. At the front of the temple lies the wí·hăhn (sanctuary), which houses historically significant murals from the early 20th century. Although many have suffered damage over time, they remain an important part of the temple’s cultural heritage.

Tham Khao Luang Cave, Khao Wang Rd. Thong Chai, Phetchaburi Thailand. Approximately 4 km north of Phetchaburi town lies Khao Luang Cave, a dramatic cavern filled with impressive stalactites and considered one of Thailand’s most magnificent cave shrines. The cave was a favored meditation site of King Rama IV during his monastic life. To reach the cave, visitors ascend a set of steep stairs leading into the vast chamber. Each morning—weather permitting—the cave is illuminated by a divine shaft of sunlight streaming through a natural skylight, creating an unforgettable atmosphere around the Buddha statues inside.

Return Hua Hin. After spending approximately 4–5 hours exploring Phetchaburi, we will make the journey back to Hua Hin.
