Enjoy Tirana through its food, streets and stories on this guided street food tour through Albania’s lively capital. We’ll begin in the city center, where your guide welcomes you with freshly baked byrek and a glass of refreshing dhalle, a traditional yogurt based drink that Albanians have enjoyed for generations.

From there, wander through Skanderbeg Square, Tirana’s cultural heart, visiting the Et’hem Bey Mosque, Clock Tower and National History Museum while learning about the city’s fascinating past. As you stroll into nearby neighborhoods, enjoy a mid-morning snack of peskavica a delicious cheese-filled meatball patty on the bustling Rruga e Kavajes.

Continue through Tirana’s mix of Ottoman, Italian and communist era architecture, stopping at landmarks like the Bank of Albania and the stunning Orthodox Cathedral of the Resurrection. Along the Pedonalja (pedestrian street), soak in the city’s energy with time to shop or explore.

For lunch, savor traditional dishes such as pllaqi (beans slow-cooked with herbs) or shish (grilled meat skewers), then taste the savory pispili, a cornbread with greens loved by locals. Walk across the historic Tanners’ Bridge and pause at the Pyramid of Tirana, a once-controversial building that today hosts creative and cultural spaces.

Itinerario

10:00 AM- Meet at the InAlb meeting point Byrek Stop at our favorite byrek spot (10:05 AM - 10:15 AM). Start the journey with a traditional Albanian breakfast by enjoying freshly baked byrek at Byrek Special "Luani" and some dhalle . Like a true Albanian. Choose from delicious fillings like cheese, spinach, or meat.

Sheshi Skënderbej Highlights (10:25 AM - 11:00 AM). A guided introduction to the cultural and historical importance of Sheshi Skënderbej, the heart of Tirana. Key landmarks include: Et'hem Bey Mosque. Clock Tower (Sahat Kulla). National History Museum

Kavaja Street Food Experience (11:05 AM - 11:15 AM). Head to Rruga e Kavajës and savor a mid-morning snack: Bukë me qofte (bread with grilled meatballs) or a peskavica ( Albanian cheese stuffed meatball patty ), depending on preference. We suggest nr 2.

Banka e Shqipërisë and Orthodox Cathedral (11:25 AM - 12:00 PM). Stroll past the iconic Bank of Albania and visit the nearby Orthodox Church of the Resurrection, a stunning architectural and cultural landmark.

Bunk'Art and Pedonalja (12:05 AM - 12:50 PM). Walk along the pedestrian street Pedonalja to reach Bunk’Art 2, an underground bunker turned museum. Enjoy some free time to explore the lively street . Grab the days food at the local spot . Depending on the day this menu item may change so it is a bit of a surprise . Pllaqi ( big beans ) and shish ( meat stick) is the default .

Parliament and Pispili (13:00 PM - 13:20 PM). Stop by the Parliament of Albania. Across the street, taste pispili – a traditional Albanian food. Visit the nearby Ura e Tabakëve (Tanners' Bridge) to appreciate its historic charm.

The Pyramid of Tirana (13:30 PM - 13:40 PM). Conclude the sightseeing portion of the tour with a visit to the Pyramid of Tirana, an iconic structure and modern hub of creativity and culture.

Sweet Treat at Laguna (13:45 PM - 14:00 PM). Finish the tour with a delightful Albanian dessert at Laguna, famous for its fresh, locally inspired sweets.
