You will also head to Mount Batur and get a spectacular view of the lake in its crater, learning the local legends from your guide. After receiving a flower necklace, you will be taken in an air-conditioned car to your destination, listening to relaxing Balinese music. You will arrive at Tirta Empul, a water temple that features a petirtaan or bathing structure that is famous for its holy spring water. Balinese Hindus go there for ritual purification, while Tirta Empul translates as Holy Spring. This site will provide you with a more profound knowledge of Balinese culture and philosophy of spirituality. The temple was founded in 962 AD during the rule of the Warmadewa dynasty, and from your guide you will learn about the incredible Balinese architecture and symbolism.After the healing and purification ceremony, you will take a break, drinking coffee at a herbal tea plantation. Then, the guide will take you to relax to the amazing Balinese natural landscape of Mount Batur, an active volcano and a part of UNESCO Global Geoparks Network. In the core of its caldera, you will see Lake Batur, the world's largest volcanic crater lake that is also known as Danau Batur. Locals believe that the lake is inhabited by the god Batara Danu and the goddess Dewi Danu and that it gets filled with water by eleven holy springs.
