Join a full-day tour from Rome and discover Orvieto, a charming Medieval town perched on a rock cliff. Orvieto Duomo will amaze you with its colorful and imposing architecture and the masterpieces it enshrines.
Marvel at the sight of the Underground Caves below the street level, following your guide into a hidden world.
Among the array of architectural marvels, prepare to be awestruck by the renowned St. Patrick's Well, a staggering 53 meters deep.
At lunchtime, your private driver will lead you to a winery overlooking the town and the valley. There, you will taste three Umbrian wines and homemade delicious local tidbits. Before returning to Rome, you will also visit the vineyard, the winery, and the Etruscan Caves.

Plan

Orvieto Cathedral. The main highlight is the Gothic Cathedral. Dazzling multicolored mosaics and splendid bas-reliefs cover its façade. The interior contains the relics of the Miracle of Bolsena and incomparable frescoes of the “Apocalypse” by Fra Angelico and Luca Signorelli‘s “Day of Judgment” and” Life after Death.”

St. Patrick's Well. The price includes the visit to St Patrick’s Well. Carved in the tuff, it will impress you with its over 200 feet of depth and the remarkably intertwined staircases that never meet. Enjoy the view from the Fortress.

Underground Orvieto. Marvel at the sight of the Underground Caves below the street level, following your guide into a hidden world; columbaria, quarries, ravines, an underground medieval oil mill, and more! The underground caves date back to the Etruscan period, 5th Century B.C., when they had to dig deep wells to find water. Over the centuries, the Caves were used for different purposes and then dismissed until 1970, when archeologists discovered them.

Orvieto and Wine Tasting. You will taste 3 Umbrian signature wines at lunchtime while enjoying a selection of genuine local products. You will also visit the vineyard, the winery, and the Etruscan Caves. People come to Orvieto from Rome also to traditional Italian vineries. If you are interested, they send their products worldwide.
