Gothic Loggias. The elegant Gothic loggias define the palace’s distinctive identity. Slender columns support a structure that feels both light and refined. A perfect balance between decorative richness and civic function.

Giants’ Staircase. The monumental Giants’ Staircase marked the ceremonial entrance to power. This is where the Doge was crowned, beneath the statues of Mars and Neptune. A theatrical space blending Renaissance architecture with political symbolism.

Scala d’Oro. The Golden Staircase led to the most prestigious rooms of the palace. Richly decorated with gold and stucco, it was reserved for elite officials. A dramatic ascent designed to impress and intimidate.

Sala del Maggior Consiglio. This was the political heart of the Venetian Republic. Hundreds of members gathered here to govern the state. The monumental paintings narrate the glory and identity of Venice.

Bridge of Sighs. This passage marks the shift from the political heart of Venice to its system of justice. It crosses the Bridge of Sighs, once walked by prisoners on their way to the cells. The atmosphere changes from grandeur to tension, preparing for what follows.

Prigioni Nuove. The prisons reveal the harsh reality behind Venetian power. Cells were small, cold, and designed to isolate inmates from the outside world. A stark contrast to the opulence of the palace above.
