The walk begins from the ticket booth, along a trail that climbs up the volcano's slope until you get a spectacular view of the crater! The beautiful panorama that opens from the top and extends from the Bay of Naples to Pompeii rewards the effort. At the top, you can still see the large concrete hooks mounted for the Vesuvius funicular. It opened in the late 19th century and inspired the famous Neapolitan song "Funiculì funiculà."
