Sightseeing in Rome

przeżycia: 102 Italy

There are eighty sightseeing programmes for Rome, and they divide by mode of travel rather than by the list of sights. The cheapest is on foot: an evening walk from Piazza Venezia runs three hours at 41 dollars, and a route through the fountains and squares two and a half hours at 71. The classic version with an open bus and a walking section costs 48 dollars and takes three hours.

The Colosseum and the Vatican are counted separately. The one-hour express programme at the Colosseum costs 109 dollars, the seventy-five-minute version with a local guide 73 dollars, and the difference lies in who leads it, not in the route. The combined Vatican and Colosseum tour lasts four and a half hours at 367 dollars, the most expensive entry in the section.

The wheeled format exists because of the distances: central Rome is compact, but the sights sit apart. A day ticket for the hop-on hop-off bus costs 33 dollars and is valid twelve hours — the cheapest sightseeing entry. A golf cart around the city takes three hours at 224 dollars, and a private evening tour with a guide two and a half hours at 233. GetExperience lists 80 sightseeing programmes in Rome, from 33 to 367 dollars.
