Cruises in Kemer

Two kinds of water open up from Kemer. The first is the sea beneath the mountains: the shoreline here is cut into coves that no road reaches, and a boat is the only way in. Evening yacht trips are timed for sunset, with dinner on board and champagne; they run a few hours along the rock faces where the Taurus slopes break straight into the water.

The second water is fresh and lies away from the shore: the Green Canyon on the Oymapınar reservoir, about two hours east. The boat moves slowly between wooded slopes, stops two or three times for swimming, and the water stays cold even in July because the basin is deep. These programmes take a full day and include lunch on board.

What separates the offers. The size of the boat decides everything else: large double-deckers carry many people and run to a timetable, smaller yachts take fewer passengers and leave more deck space. Check whether alcohol is covered and how many swim stops are made. Practical note: evenings on the water are cooler than they look from shore, especially in Kemer where the mountains cut off the sun early — bring something with sleeves.
