The Samaria Gorge is one of the most beautiful gorges in Europe. Anyone who decides to go here, should know, that this is not a simple easy walk in nature, but a hard hike 16 km long. But those beauties that you will see here, will be remembered for a lifetime. Samaria is a national nature reservation. Here you will see the nature, that has been on Crete for many thousands of years.

Early in the morning, our comfortable tourist bus picks you up at the hotel, and we head west. The road will be long, with sanitary stops. Our final destination will be the high plateau Omalos. Here we leave the bus, get tickets from the guide and start our journey through the Samaria Gorge.

First, we descend from the mountain down into the gorge washed by the mountain stream, and then we will follow the river bed to the south. Our guides will give you a route map, with places where you can relax, drink fresh spring water, use the toilets. Our path will pass through the abandoned village of Samaria, an old church, we will see the ruins of fortresses in the mountains. Sometimes you will also see kri kri mountain goats, which are now under the protection. The length of the route is 16 km. You can go at any speed, but you must remember that at the indicated time, the escort will be waiting for you in the village of Agia Roumeli, lying on the coast of the Libyan Sea in Samaria Exit. Here he will give you your tickets for the boat, which will depart from Agia Roumeli and take us to Sfakia.

If you pass quickly through the gorge, you will have more time to swim in the sea and have lunch. After the whole group boards the ship, we set sail. Another wonderful sea voyage begins, along the southern coast of Crete. Upon arrival in Sfakia, we get on our bus and set off on our way back!
