Transfers in Alanya

Alanya has two airports, and the choice of transfer follows from that. The near one is Gazipaşa, roughly forty kilometres east, about forty minutes from the town centre. The far one is Antalya, some hundred and twenty kilometres from Alanya and around two hours along the coastal highway. That second route costs more and demands a time buffer: in summer the road past the resorts of Kemer and Manavgat is dense, and traffic slows further towards evening.

A private transfer differs from a shuttle in that the car comes for you alone: the driver meets you in arrivals with a sign, helps with luggage and drives straight to the hotel without intermediate stops. Shared minibuses cost less but drop off at several hotels in turn, which can double the journey. For families with children the difference is noticeable, all the more so because a child seat in a private car is ordered in advance and usually carries no surcharge.

A separate category covers transfers not to an airport but to specific places: the Land of Legends theme park near Belek, for instance, about two hours from Alanya. These are taken one way or as a return with a fixed pick-up time. When booking, give the flight number, since the driver tracks delays by it and waits, and state the exact number of bags, because the vehicle class depends on that.
