Wat Huay Mongkol Temple -Home to the Giant Luang Pho Thuat Statue. Explore the renowned Huay Mongkol Temple, home to the world’s largest statue of Luang Pho Thuat. Originally known as ‘Wat Huai Khot’ and located in the Ban Huai Khot community of the Thap Tai Sub‑district in Hua Hin, the temple was later renamed Huai Mongkhon by the King. During his visit, the King also ordered the upgrade of the access road from a dirt path to a paved route, reflecting the temple’s new name. The monumental statue of Luang Por Thuat—measuring 9.9 meters across the lap and 11.5 meters in height—stands atop a three‑tiered base, each level spanning 70 meters in width and length. Rising prominently against the sky, the statue creates a striking silhouette. Positioned at the heart of the temple grounds, it radiates a serene presence that encourages visitors to reflect on goodness and carry forward the teachings of Luang Pho Thuat.

Kaeng Krachan National Park Visitor Center. At 10:30 AM, continue driving to Kaeng Krachan National Park. Along the way, you may be lucky enough to spot wild elephants crossing the road. Kaeng Krachan National Park—Thailand’s largest—lies along the Myanmar border and connects to the Tanintharyi Conservation Area. Its popularity is due in part to its proximity to Hua Hin. On July 26, 2021, it was officially designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Pala U Waterfall. Plan to arrive at Pala U Waterfall by 11:00 AM and begin your jungle hike to a beautiful natural swimming spot. The name ‘Pa La‑U’ comes from the Karen word for ‘bamboo,’ reflecting the abundance of bamboo in the area. Located within Kaeng Krachan National Park, the waterfall spans roughly 437 million square meters and is rich in wildlife—you may encounter gibbons, elephants, hedgehogs, and a variety of rare birds such as red‑headed trogons, green‑billed malkohas, great slaty woodpeckers, and rusty‑breasted cuckoos, making it a paradise for bird enthusiasts. Pala U features 15 distinct tiers, each with its own charm. The higher you climb, the more challenging the trail becomes. For safety, visitors are advised to hike only up to the 5th tier due to steep terrain. Swimming is possible, so remember to bring swimwear and towels. Facilities such as toilets and changing areas are available.
