The falls are located on the High Rhine at Neuhausen am Rheinfall Village and just below Schaffhausen in the north of Switzerland. The world-famous Rhine Falls is around 15.000 years old. The reason behind the creation of this miracle was the tectonic shifts during the Ice age. Due to the traditionally formed border between different countries, the Rhine was an inspiration for many impressive man-made structures such as castles or other fascinating buildings.
