Riisitunturi Adventure – Private Snowshoeing Tour

Spend 4,5-5 hours exploring Riisitunturi National Park with your own private local guide.

This flexible winter adventure gives us time to go beyond the most visited parts of Riisitunturi and explore quieter forests, open fell landscapes and less-visited corners of the national park.

There is no fixed route or distance. When booking, you can tell us how long and active you would like your adventure to be and what you would especially like to experience. We use your wishes together with the weather and snow conditions to plan the day. The final route is always decided according to the conditions at Riisitunturi.

We usually explore approximately 4–7 km, while active groups can cover up to approximately 10 km. You don't need to walk the maximum distance - you choose the distance. Photographers, families and guests who prefer a slower day can cover less distance and spend more time stopping, photographing and enjoying the landscape.

Depending on the conditions, we may use snowshoes, skin-based skis, winter boots or ice grips. In deep snow, snowshoes also give us the freedom to leave the packed trails and explore quieter parts of Riisitunturi.

During the tour, we will stop for a campfire break with something warm to eat and drink.

No previous snowshoeing experience is required. The route, distance and pace are adapted to your group.

Winter Conditions

Every winter day at Riisitunturi is different. Fresh snow, wind, temperature and visibility affect the route and how demanding the tour feels.

Your guide will assess the conditions and discuss the plan with you before setting off. The route can also be adjusted during the tour if needed.

Specific weather, sunrise, sunset or Northern Lights cannot be guaranteed, but the flexible departure time allows us to plan around the winter light whenever this is important to you.
