Swim above El Meco's colorful coral, explore the Cancun Underwater Museum (MUSA) with its collection of 500+ submerged sculptures, watch for sea turtles in their natural habitat and explore a shipwreck reclaimed by the Caribbean.

Then comes something you probably never imagined finding beneath the sea—an underwater cenote, where freshwater emerges through the seabed in the Caribbean.

In approximately two hours in the water, five remarkably different underwater experiences reveal just how much there is to discover beneath Cancun's famous waters.

First-time snorkeler? Small boats, shallow waters and attentive guides keep the experience personal and comfortable.

By the time you climb back aboard, you'll have snorkeled over coral, underwater art and a shipwreck, searched for sea turtles and even discovered a cenote beneath the Caribbean—all without leaving Cancun's coast.

Program

The MUSA, also known as "Museo Subacuático de Arte", is an initiative that wanted to divert a large group of divers from the ocean that disturbed the balance of the underwater fauna in the Caribbean coastline. One of the best ways to enjoy MUSA and experience its brilliant reefs is snorkeling through this coral wonderland! The Cancun National Marine Park, wanted to offer an alternative to preserve these altered coral reefs bringing on board the British sculptor Jason De Caires Taylor and a group of Mexican artists that created an amazing and interest mix of over 500 statues. Enjoy 2 Giant underwater statues while exploring 2 submarine art galleries: “The blessings” and “Aquarium Family”.You will find yourself gliding through these enticing waters weaving your own aquatic memory!

Enjoyed at “El Meco” coral reef, one of the best-conserved spots in the Great Mayan Reef, full of fish and marine life. MUSA Enjoy 2 Giant underwater statues while exploring 2 submarine art galleries: “The blessings” and “Aquarium Family”. Our spot to find sea turtles! 96-98% chances to see from 1-5 turtles! We might also see and swim with rays. Visit a shipwreck full of life, filled with colorful coral and multicolored fish. The shipwreck is surrounded by crystal clear water and white sand, you’ll feel like you are swimming in a natural pool!

Snorkeling Experience: Beginners and first-time snorkelers are welcome. A snorkeling briefing is provided before entering the water. Wildlife: Sea turtles, rays and other marine animals are wild. Sightings may vary and cannot be guaranteed. Environmental Protection: Sunscreen is not permitted to help protect the coral reef. A long-sleeve rash guard is recommended for sun protection. Weather: This tour operates rain or shine. If the port is closed to navigation by local authorities, you may reschedule your tour or receive a full refund. Travel Time: Transportation, check-in, briefing and boat travel are included in the total tour duration. Late Arrivals / No-Shows: Guests who arrive late or fail to show up for their scheduled activity are not eligible for a refund. Swimming Requirement: Guests must be comfortable swimming in open water and able to follow the guide's safety instructions throughout the snorkeling activity. Hotel Pickup: Available from Downtown Cancun, Cancun Hotel Zone, Costa Mujeres and Playa Mujeres and must be requested at least 24 hours in advance. Please provide your hotel name at booking to receive your assigned pickup time and location. Pickup begins approximately 30 minutes before your tour time.
