Important InformationGetting Around:Most of our travel will be by vehicle, but we’ll also enjoy a short city walk to stretch our legs and explore a bit more up close.Beach Stop – Baía das Gatas:We’ll make a stop at this beautiful beach (15-20 minutes)! If you’d like to swim, please wear your bathing suit under your clothes and bring a towel, as there are no changing facilities at the beach.What to Bring:Comfortable clothing and shoes, sun protection (hat, sunscreen, sunglasses), and a bottle of water to stay refreshed, cash or card for lunch or personal expenses.Lunch (not included):We’ll stop for lunch between 12:30–13:30 at a lovely local restaurant. Meals are at your own expense, with an average cost of 12–20 euros per person.The restaurant accepts euros, escudos (local currency), and major credit cards.Guest Information:Please let us know in advance if you have any dietary restrictions, allergies, mobility needs, or special occasions we should be aware of — we’ll do our best to make your experience perfect!Monte Verde Summit:We’ll be traveling up to the summit of Monte Verde, so please be aware this area is at high altitude.Languages:For open group tours, your guide may speak more than one language to make sure everyone enjoys the experience.Sundays & Public Holidays:On these days, markets, the cultural center, and the tea house are closed. Hear about our history, culture, lifestyle. Enjoy the architectural style of our colorful buildings. Visit the bustling markets of Mindelo; Fish Market, African Market, and Municipal Market (closed on Sundays). From the lookout point, we will have the best views of Mindelo, Monte Cara, and Laginha Beach. Take a scenic drive to the top of Monte Verde, natural and protected park, the highest peak in Sao Vicente. Head to the small charming sea side fishing villages on the Island. Take a swim in the clear blue lagoon of Baía das Gatas, and marvel at the contrasting long beach coastline. Calhau is an oasis! A charming small farming and fishing village also home of Vulcao Viana, one of the of last extinct volcanos on the Island. In the valley of Calhau we will see traditional farming by hand, animals, water wells, and windmills.
