This walking tour through Düsseldorfer Altstadt offers a captivating journey through the cultural and historical heart of Düsseldorf, where centuries-old architecture meets a lively modern atmosphere. Guests will explore iconic landmarks such as the historic Marktplatz, the elegant Düsseldorf Town Hall, and the striking St. Lambertus Basilica, while uncovering stories of influential figures and the city’s rich past. The experience is enhanced by scenic moments along the Rhine, views of the modern Rhine Tower, and a visit to the historic Schlossturm. Combined with the unique charm of the “longest bar in the world,” this tour delivers a perfect blend of history, architecture, and vibrant local culture in one unforgettable experience.

Ablauf

We start our tour with a visit to the 18th-century building which was once used as a bank.

You will be able to see the contemporary art in this exhibition hall. - (Monday closed).

Visit the old town of the city, which is also famous by the name “longest bar in the world”, and also get to see the City hall.

Visit the Roman Catholic Parish church, also known as the Immerather Dom, a Medieval Church which is an architectural highlight in the Old town.

Visit the maritime museum which was the last remaining part of the city palace, burned down in 1882.

In this 50 years old museum, you will see the art collections of the 20th century which are internationally distinct. (Monday Closed)

Visit the 14th-century marketplace located in the old town.

Visit the “Kings Avenue”, the urban boulevard of the city, located along the landscaped canals.

Get to see great shopping areas at this place.

We will end our tour at the 240.5-meter high telecommunications tower which carries aerials for directional radio, FM and TV transmitters.
