Sibenik Walking Tour in Šibenik, Croatia

Accompanied by a private guide, you will walk around Šibenik, getting to know the oldest city on the Adriatic. It was founded by Croats, setting it apart from other cities along the Adriatic coast that were established by Greeks, Illyrians and Romans. You will see that this medieval city consists entirely of stone, exploring its quaint alleys and squares, as well as incredible historic sites, ranging from ancient churches to palaces and mansions to townhouses. Paved and cobbled streets connect all of the attractions, passing underneath arches and going through tunnels. Also, its medieval historical center is completely car-free, since the streets are way too narrow, and it will allow you to wander the streets freely. In the very heart of the city, you will see the City Hall of Šibenik, a harmonious Renaissance building that was constructed in the 16th century and features a beautiful facade with a balustrade, balcony, columns and arches. From its restaurant on the first floor opens a fantastic view of the Cathedral of St. James. As you visit the cathedral, you will discover that it is the most important Renaissance monument in Croatia and it was used as a filming location for Game of Thrones. In the series, the St. James Cathedral was used as the Iron Bank, while the old town of Šibenik, set on the coast and featuring fortified walls and forts, served as the city of Braavos.
