Private Tour to Nokalakevi from Tbilisi includes visiting ancient fortress and town of Nokalakevi all important sightseeing in Samegrelo region of Georgia. Total drive 675 km (415 miles).

Itinerary

Nokalakevi Archaeopolis. Nokalakevi also known as Archaeopolis is archaeological site in the Senaki municipality occupies approximately 20ha. Nokalakevi-Archaeopolis played a part in the major wars fought between the Byzantines and Sasanians in the South Caucasus during the sixth century AD. It was one of the key fortresses guarding Lazika (modern Mingrelia) from Sasanian, Persian and Iberian (East Georgian/Kartlian) attack. During the war of AD 540-562, the Persians' failure to take Nokalakevi-Archaeopolis from the Byzantines and the Laz eventually cost them control of Lazika.

Shurubumu Canyon. Shurubumu is an enchanting wonder of the natural world. The area is covered with lush green moss and thousand-year old buxus trees.

Dadiani Palace in Salkhino. Visit Dadiani Palace and Ojaleshi wine micro zone in Salkhino.

Martvili Canyon. Visit one of the best canyons in Georgia to explore the nature and waterfalls.
