Full description

Hi there! I am your local Cape Town guide, and I cannot wait to take you on this tour for I have many stories about the Cape of good hope that I would love to share with you.

Pickup will be from your hotel before we head to Bo-Kaap, where the brightly colored houses tell stories of Cape Town’s rich cultural past.

From there, we will head along one of the world's most scenic coastal routes. Expect jaw dropping views as we slowly make our way to Cape of good hope. This area is part of the world's richest plant family and optional hikes will be offered to you.

We will also explore a few charming seaside towns. In Hout Bay, you will have the option to take a short boat trip out to Duiker Island to see the Cape Fur Seals. Then in Simon’s Town, we will meet the famous African Penguins at Boulders Beach.

On our way back to Cape Town, depending on the road traffic flow, we will pass through Muizenberg Beach, known for its colorful beach huts and surf vibe before ending the day at your hotel.

Itinerary

Bo-kaap. Shortly after the commencement of the tour, before we leave the city for the coast. We will have the opportunity to make a quick stop in the historic Bo-kaap to see the brightly colored houses and discover her long history. Your guide will walk you around as you take photos and learn about the history of this neighborhood.

Bantry bay. Nestled at the foothills of the Lion's head mountain is an affluent suburb called Bantry bay. Very well known for its wind free status, Bantry bay has over 250 days of no wind a year which is a great deal in Cape town considering the mother city's windy climate.

Clifton. Tucked high up on the mountain side is another opulent neighborhood called Clifton. Besides the expensive real estate, Clifton is also well known for having some of the best beaches near Cape town. The four Clifton beaches that are naturally divided into 4 by granite boulders.

Camps bay. See the beautiful Beverly hills of Cape Town called Camps Bay. Stop briefly to take photos and enjoy the views of the twelve apostles.

Hout Bay. From Camps Bay, the tour will go via Victoria Road, past Bakoven suburb to Hout Bay town. This beautiful town is also known for its thriving fishing community and your guide will show you the harbor from where the fishing activities are done. While you are here, you may hop on a boat and embark on a 40-minute scenic journey to an Island that is inhabited by more than 5 thousand cape fur seals. You will see the seals from the boat and if you may not be keen to take the boat trip you may spend some time exploring the craft market or even take a 10-minute walk to Hout Bay Beach. Kindly note that the seal Island trip is optional the boat is available subject to good weather conditions

Seal Island. Our journey will have an hour layover at Hout bay harbor whereby you may hop on a boat at own cost, for an optional 40-minute cruise to an Island inhabited by more than 5 thousand cape fur seals. You will see the seals from the boat and if you may not be keen to take the boat trip you may spend some time exploring the craft market or even take a 10 minute walk to Hout bay Beach.

Chapman's peak drive. As we leave Hout bay, we will drive onto the world-famous Chapman's peak drive, a mountain side road locally known as Chappies. The Chapman's peak drive is an engineering masterpiece that meanders for 9km along the giant Chapman's peak mountains that seems to drop into the ocean like an avalanche. You will also have an opportunity to stop for photos and enjoy the views of the Atlantic ocean, the cliffs and the white sandy beaches.

Noordhoek farm village. At the Southern end of the Chapman's peak drive is a Noordhoek farm village. The whitewashed and thatched buildings operate as shops trading as raw juice shops, coffee shops, bakery, restaurants handmade crafts shop and clothing stores. A short stop to indulge in some of these may be offered to you provided that there is enough.

Cape point ostrich farm. A mere 200m before the Cape point nature reserve is an Ostrich farm where guest will have an opportunity to stop by along the road and take pictures of Africa's largest bird.

Cape point nature reserve is home to the most south western corner of Africa (Cape of good hope).Rich fauna and flora makes this place a biodiversity hotspot. You will be able to enjoy the views while in the comfort of the vehicle or even by foot.

Cape of good hope. Famed the corner of Africa.Where the Cold Atlantic and the Indian oceans shares common grounds. The Cape of good hope is however only the most south westerly point of Africa.Hiking trails to the summit of the Cape makes for great activity and sightseeing. The Cape of good hope sign is also another big attraction.Possible different hiking trails will be offered to you from here by your guide

Cape point lighthouse. Walk or take a funicular (at own cost) up to South Africa's 3rd oldest lighthouse for a 360-degree view of the national park. The old lighthouse was launched in 1960 only to be decommissioned 40 years and dozens of shipwrecks too late after studies proved that its high altitude posed a great danger to sailors around the cape as they couldn't be able to see it when it was cloudy. A new lighthouse was then built at a lower altitude.

Simons town. Another quiet and wealthy town on the false bay coastline. Victorian built Simon's town is home to freshest seafood restaurants, The south African Navy and the African penguins.

Boulders beach penguin colony is home to thousands of the endangered tuxedo swimmers, the African penguin! Here you will walk on the beach and take close up photos of one of our flightless birds.

Muizenberg beach is also known as "The surfers corner". Brightly colored changing huts on the beach makes for a great photo shoot.
