Itinerary
Avignon, Popes' Palace and Grands Crus. This is a typical itinerary for this product. Stop at: Palais des Papes, Avignon, Vaucluse, Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur. Visit of the Palace of the Popes of Avignon. Duration: 2 hours. Stop at: Pont Saint-Bénézet (Pont d'Avignon), Avignon, Vaucluse, Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur. Visit of the famous Avignon bridge. Duration: 30 minutes. After visiting the old town, we will head towards Les Halles (covered market) and take our lunch break. After a good meal, we will continue our tour to Chateauneuf du Papes followed by a tasting in the cooperative cellar and different estates depending on the day of the week to finish in good time.
Circuit in Provence: "Cézanne and the winegrowers". We will start our day with a visit to the city centre of Aix en Provence, its fountains, its mansions and the Saint Sauveur cathedral (1h30). We will then leave for an immersion in the world of the painter Cézanne with a visit to his studio (ticket not included 6.5 euros). Passing through "the painters' field" and "the Cézanne portal" we will take the country path, very close to the Sainte Victoire mountain for a light walk. We will discover the Bimont dam, the Cézanne balcony and breathtaking landscapes. The ideal place for a picnic in the heart of Provence of the famous painter. After filling up with energy, we will continue our journey towards Château Lacoste, where we will enjoy the various exhibitions of contemporary art, a visit to the vineyards and a wine tasting to end this day in style! Possible stops, depending on the timing, in some local product shops (Puyricard chocolate factory, olive oil, confectionery, lavender).
Cassis: sea, cliffs and vineyards. From Marseille, we will start our visit with a commented van ride: the history of Marseille, its modernization, the different religious buildings and impressive villas, a few words on the environment and beaches before passing in front of the Velodrome, the radiant city of Le Corbusier and the largest university in France to join the route de la Gineste where we can make several stops for photos or simply admire the incredible view on Marseille and the surroundings. In the morning, several options are available to you: A long hike (3 hours) to the Calanque d'En Vau, a short hike (1h30) to Port Pin, a 45 to 110 min boat trip to discover the different creeks of the National Park (ticket not included - 16 to 28€), or a visit to the city, its alleys, its typical market and the possibility of swimming at the beach in the centre. After a meal break (at your expense), we will visit one of the 12 organic Cassis wine estates (entrance not included - between 10 and 12€ with tasting) or simply taste some good local wines. You can also do a snorkeling session (included in the tour), Kayak/Paddle (not included) or visit the nearby town of La Ciotat. We will then pass by Cap Canaille, the highest sea cliff in Europe for a last and most impressive photo session!
