Since there are many options, like archeological zones or more fun activities, we recommend you to stop in the lagoon and some of the archeological zones in the area.
Itinerary
It's located on the edge of a lagoon in the Sian Ka’an Biosphere Preserve, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You will be able to experience the Mayan life through the canals dug by the ancient Maya and see the unrestored or unexcavated structures. Admission fee: 2 USD
As soon as you are arriving to Bacalar, you will definitely think that you're seeing an optical illusion. With its many shades of blue water, from the deepest blue to crystal turquoise, you will be amazed. You will love to see the Lagoon of Seven Colors.
Sian Ka'an means 'Origin of the Sky' in the Mayan language. So you can imagine how beautiful this place is. This biosphere reserve contains tropical forests, mangroves and marshes, where you can relax, enjoy and connect with nature. Admission fee: 4 USD
One of the best kept secrets of Tulum. This lagoon, with a cenote in the middle of it, is a very well kept secret, because it's not as popular and advertised as other places. However, you will love this beautiful place, where you can swim and enjoy amazing views. Admission fee: 5 USD
