Full description

According to ancient Roman religion and mythology, Robigo (or Rubigo) was the goddess who safeguarded corn and other crops from diseases. In her honor, the Robigalia festival was held each April to seek her protection for the harvest. The name 'Rubik' is derived from this historical reference.

Itinerary

Tirana-Rubik. Depart from Tirana towards Rubik.

Visit Museum Info Kulla. First stop is at the Museum called Info Kulla, where you will be introduced to the history of Mirdita which is the most authentic region in Albania, because it was never fully occupied in last two millenniums by the various invaders starting from Hellenic, Roman, Byzantines, and the Ottomans. Introduction to Kanuni i Maleve, or known as “The Code of Lek Dukagjini” inherited from ancient Illyrian Code (more than 3500 years old). Illyrian code was inherited also from Romans back in ancient time. It is also important to mention that similar one is founded in Hittite civilization dating back 3200 year ago

Hiking in Rubik Mountains.   Then, start the hike in Rubik Mountains from Eco Marub and proceed towards Marianne Graf-Point – Ruins of the “Kalaja”. Afterwards, proceed to visit to the Shelbuemi Church(dated in 1162). Conclude the hike with Monastery ruins – Katund i Vjeter. Possibility for lunch break

Tirana. Return back to Tirana.
