Ho Chi Minh City, still often referred to by its original name of Saigon, is a fast-paced city full of contrasts, where street vendors selling fruit and vegetables can be seen next to glitzy, Western-style bars and boutiques. Learn about the city's turbulent past and enjoy glimpses of its fascinating modern-day culture on this city tour. A guide unravels Saigon’s history, from the 1859 capture of the city by the French to the dramatic period of the 1950s, '60s and '70s. You'll see attractions like Reunification Palace, the War Remnants Museum and Central Post Office.

Itinerary

Hotel Pick-up & Departure. We pick-up guests from several hotels. Please be ready at 8:00 a.m. (or 1:00 p.m.). Meet your guide at the lobby for a short 15-minute drive to the first stop. After greeting you warmly, your guide will share a brief introduction to Sai Gon before leading you through its most iconic highlights. You’ll walk and drive through lively streets, discovering the city’s unique mix of history, culture, and daily life.

Step Into History at the Reunification Palace. The Reunification Palace is a historic landmark that played a significant role in the country’s history. You can explore its many rooms and halls, including the president’s office, meeting rooms, and underground command center. The palace is filled with artifacts and memorabilia from the war era, providing an immersive glimpse into Vietnam’s past.

Reflect on History at the War Remnants Museum. The War Remnants Museum is a powerful and sobering museum dedicated to the Vietnam War. It features exhibits that depict the harsh realities of the war, including the effects of Agent Orange, war crimes, and the struggle for independence by the Vietnamese people.

Admire the Iconic Saigon Central Post Office. The Central Post Office is not only a functional building, but also a historical landmark that reflects the rich past of the city. Built in the late 19th century, it stands as a stunning example of French colonial architecture with a grand interior boasting high ceilings, marble floors, and intricate details.

Experience Local Life at Ben Thanh Market. Bến Thành Market is one of the oldest and most popular markets in Hồ Chí Minh City. It’s a bustling hub of activity where visitors can immerse themselves in the local culture and shop for a variety of goods, from clothing and souvenirs to fresh produce and street food.

Tour Ends & Drop-off. At the end of the tour, we can drop you off at the pick-up point or any central location of your choice.
