Santo Antão boasts of green valleys, mountains, vegetation traditional farming lifestyle, hardworking people and rich culture, which cannot be justified by words, but must be taken in by your encounter. Get picked up from the Port and begin your day of discovery.

Begin with an early morning pick up Porto Novo, Santo Antão, as you exit the Gare Maritima terminal you will be met by your local guide who will have a sign with your name on it and will take you on a journey through the mountains to all the Island Highlights in one day by car! Begin driving along the old road to Ribeira Grande, you will pass by small communities each with their own identities, houses set along the mountainsides – each of these valleys give life and sustain families for generations. This excursion is a must for those who want to witness some of the most stunning landscapes and experience the culture and lifestyle of Cape Verdeans. After a fantastic day of exploring, we will return to Porto Novo.

Itinerary

Pick up at Porto Novo. Begin with an early morning pick up Porto Novo, Santo Antão, as you exit the Gare Maritima terminal you will be met by your local guide (we have have our Green Line Tours signs) who will take you on a journey through the mountains to all the Island Highlights in one day by car!

Old Road. Begin driving along the old road to Ribeira Grande, you will pass by small communities each with their own identities, houses set along the mountainsides

Volcano Crater of Cova de Paúl. A must see! Atop of Cova crater you will have breathtaking views of the immense lush green valley below.

Delgadin. A sought after view point on top of the mountain ridge you will have immense views into the two valleys below; Ribeira Grande and Ribeira da Torre

Povacao. One of the main cities in Santo Antão where you will see the hustle and bustle of the Island city, Ribeira Grande

Ribeira de Torre. The greenest and most beautiful valley where there is lots of natural springs with water. Home to the valley producing the most bananas on Cabo Verde along with other fruits and vegetables.

Ponta d Sol. Arrive to the charming sea side town, where you will witness the village in action. Fishermen departing and returning to and from the sea.

Sinagoga. A site where you will find links to Cape Verdean Jewish history

Paúl. Picturesque village of Paúl with its thatched roof houses and beautiful vegetation.

Villa das Pombas. Traveling back to Porto Novo we will pass the ocean side town of Villa das Pombas

Janela. Travel back to Porto Novo on the stunning coastal Road, passing through mountain tunnels, and colorful villages arriving to the harbor

Porto Novo. After a fantastic day of exploring one of the most beautiful Islands on Cabo Verde, you will return to Porto Novo.
